On page 23 of the Aug/Sept 2015 issue of Weavings Catherine Cavanagh quotes Thich Nhat Hanh:
“Our capacity to make peace with another person and with the world depends very much on our capacity to make peace with ourselves. If we are at war with our parents, our family, our society, or our church, there is probably a war going on inside us also so the most basic work for peace is to return to ourselves and create harmony among the elements within us–our feelings, our perceptions, and our mental states.” (under Introduction from Living Buddha, Living Christ)
I just wanted to share that over my cuppa joe this morning.
Peace be with you.
A very wise and true teaching from Thich Nhat Hanh… I have actually read the book, and it was in many ways a blessing, to be sure. Good thought to share over your cuppa joe!
